As the saying goes, if you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it! That is especially true when trying to manage deductions where you may have hundreds of thousands of records.
Not every organization is fortunate enough to have sophisticated BI and analytics tools to help analyze and evaluate the health of its deduction processes.
To help those who may be struggling and looking for a solution, Jessica Butler, Founder of Attain Consulting Group has designed a Deduction Dashboard Workshop to show you how you can use Excel to build your deduction dashboard! (Yes, that Excel!)
The hands-on workshop is designed to be conducted over two days, with each session lasting two hours – so a total of four hours of learning and practicing.
Below is an outline of the workshop:
On Day 1, Jessica will walk the participants through several sample Deduction Dashboards to review the type of information typically reported to Senior Management. Participants will then be given a sample dataset to begin the process of building Pivot tables to use in the creation of their Dashboards. At the end of Day 1, participants will select the ‘components’ they will be using to build their Dashboards, such as Deductions by Key Reason Code, Deductions by Responsible Department, and Deductions > 90 Days.
On Day 2, participants will be divided into smaller working groups and will build their dashboards. Participants will use their sample data to create a Deduction Dashboard containing the components they have selected based on their organizations’ KPIs. Jessica will review the dashboards and provide tips & suggestions on how to transfer what they have learned to create a dashboard with their own company data. Every participant will receive a completion certificate at the end of the Workshop.
