lessonOverview |
This letter can be used when you have enough information to set up a new account for its initial order but would like additional reference information going forward.
- The letter should thank the customer for the order.
- The customer should be told when the order will ship.
- The new customer is told the tentative credit limit.
- A request is being made for the name and phone number of a bank officer who handles the customer's account in order for the credit department to obtain additional information.
- Apparently, the credit department has enough information upon which to approve the initial shipment and the granting of a temporary credit limit, but desires additional data. There is no reason why a sale should be refused or delayed because all of the desired information is not available as yet.
- The salesperson should receive a copy of this letter as a courtesy.
- An asterisk in the appropriate data field could indicate that the credit limit established is considered to be temporary.
- A follow-up should be set for ten business days after the letter is sent.
Note: As always, your situation and style will be unique so this can serve as a template to get started.
